Michael’s Musings: A Special Letter to a Special Friend

By Michael, Trade Minister of Arendelle (@of_michel)

There’s been a lot happening with Queen Anna, who is currently in China with Snow Queen Elsa, Kristoff, and Queen Colisa of Chatho. They comprise the Exalted now, and they’re with one of the original members of this group, Peony Sinclair, to visit her commander, the Qing prince regent Yixin. Meanwhile, in Arendelle we have a stalker plaguing prime minister and First Vampire Viola Mundilfari, a case which myself and now Commander Hilde Von Altheim are working on together. Then, of course, there’s always the normal business of running Arendelle’s government.

As my friend Vi went to the drawing room, I went back to my study and office to review what myself and Vi had brainstormed on. As I reclined back on my desk chair, my eye caught sight of an object on my desk that made me stop and reflect a bit. It was a feather and not just any feather. It was one that belonged to Grand Duke Sora, the guardian angel of the royal family of Russia, the Romanovs. She was quite literally an angel, and this feather came from her wing.

She was such a gentle, loving soul, yet she could fire up like the sun and fight like all hellfire. I miss her a lot. I also miss Princess Katina Romanov. You say to me, “But how could you miss that angry warmonger?”

I know, a lot of you see her as this:

“Team Romanov” by PURY(@puryart)

Heree she is, surrounded by her late and loyal Grand Dukes, ready to strike.

But many of you never saw this:

“Grief” by Arute (@ast05water)

Heartbroken. Remorseful. In her blind anger during the battle of Arendelle, where Sora and Elsa staged a battle to make Katina come to her better senses, Katina said the words that sent Sora back to the infernal regions where the fallen angels were sent by the Lord when He cast Satan from heaven.

“Final battle” by Arute (@ast05water)

We were all still angry with her. I threw the page from Katina’s scrapbook that Sora gave me to keep, that had a precious childhood drawing, proudly doodled by Katina in happier, more innocent times. I then walked over and got the feathers from Sora’s wings that remained when the portal to hell closed. I couldn’t stay angry at Katina, who was sobbing, remorseful, and weeping inconsolably. I knelt down and put my arms around her, and showed her some love, mercy and condolence. Queen Anna, along with myself and even Princess Danny, gave love and comfort and good advice to help her in her grief and to move forward from this.

Next morning after breakfast with Danny, Vi, Olaf, Sven, Hilde, and Tess, I went to my study and put pen to parchment. Here’s what I wrote to my friend;

Your Grace Princess Katina Romanov,

It’s your friend from the Kingdom of Arendelle, Trade Minister Michael and Uncle of the Diarchy, Queen Anna and Snow Queen Elsa.

It has been a couple of months since you left Arendelle. I hope that this letter finds you doing well. I think and remember of both you and Sora very often, that’s why I’m writing this letter to you to see how you’re doing and update you with our own goings on.

We are all doing fine here in Arendelle. Queen Anna and Elsa are now in China with Snow Queen Elsa, Queen Colisa, Peony, and Kristoff. We’re hunting the elixir of life for Yixin. Most assuredly, another confrontation with Will Harrison is inevitable.

Here at home, we’re looking for a mysterious stalker who’s harassing my best friend, the prime minister Viola Mundilfari. We’re family and we take care of and look out for each other.

Which takes us to why I’m writing this to you. I thought of you when I saw the feather on it’s desk stand that Sora left when she… well… you know. Anyway, it got me thinking of you.

How are you doing now since you left us? I’ve been thinking and praying for you since the end of our war, especially since we had our talk on the balcony of Arendelle Castle. Anna told me about what you two talked about. No matter what, Anna always finds the silver lining in every cloud. She was mad at you and Sora, yet she found it in her heart of gold that she and Elsa have to forgive and befriend you. I’m so glad we all could “bury the hatchet,” as the Americans would say.

I know that you miss Sora badly. So do I and I know how much it hurt you. Believe me, I hurt and miss that wonderful angel too. We will never forget her, and as long as we have that, she’ll live on in our hearts and memories. The lessons and the friendship you had when you were younger will live on in your memories of her too.

I wrote in an article I do for the local paper, The Arendelle Guardian, that as fierce as you are in battle, you are equally as warm, gentle, and almost as angelic as Sora. This is from a man who is Uncle to Anna and her temper plus his own! In short, I told Will one time: “Don’t make me angry. You won’t like me when I’m angry!” HA! Show that side of yourself more, my friend. You’ll see that love goes farther than mistrust, frustration and anger any day.

I’ll try to visit once things settle down in Arendelle and China. Maybe you can come peacefully and spend some time in Northuldra. Fresh salmon caught and cooked over an open fire with veggies is yummy, believe me!  We’ll vouch for you with Yelena and Honeymaren.

I hope that all is well with you and your father, Tsar Nicholas I.

Hope to hear from you soon.

God Bless and take care,

Your friend,
T.M. Michael.
